# Keep Your Veggie Alive

Here's one of the key mechanisms of Veggies Gotchi: \
\
**Lifetime (**:heart:**)**\
\
This counter represents the lifetime of your Veggie.\
If it reaches 0, your Veggie will die and loses 25% of its star points (:star:).\
These points will be redistributed to all living Veggies proportionally to their star points (:star:).\
Finally, the lifetime **(**:heart:**)** of your Veggie can not exceed 48 hours.\
\
One of your missions will therefore be to look after your Veggie pet and ensure that its **Lifetime** **(**:heart:) is always high.

## How To Increase T**he Lifetime (**:heart:) **Of Your Veggie**

To keep your Veggie pet alive and increase its **Lifetime (**:heart:), you can feed it.\
To do so, click on the carrot at the bottom right of your screen.

Once you've clicked on the carrot, a menu opens, giving you the option of feeding your Veggie with four different types of food. Let's dive into it!

## Different Type Of Food

Food plays an essential role in Veggies Gotchi.\
There are several varieties, and each of them has different properties.\
It's up to you to decide which one to give your Veggie pet.

### <mark style="color:blue;">Watering Food</mark> ( :heart:)

Watering food mainly increases the **lifetime** (:heart:) of your Veggie.\
You can use as much as you like, but the lifetime (:heart:) of your Veggie is limited to 48 hours.

{% hint style="info" %}
This means that if your primary aim is to increase lifetime (:heart:) of your Veggie, watering food will be the best choice (and the most cost-effective compared to other foods). However, it may not be the best choice for accumulating maximum star points (:star:) or skill points (:green\_circle:) ...
{% endhint %}

### <mark style="color:red;">Fertilizing</mark> (:star:)

Fertilizing food mainly increases the star points (:star:) of your Veggie.\
You can use as much as you like.

{% hint style="info" %}
This means that if your primary aim is to increase star points (:star:) of your Veggie, fertilizing food will be the best choice (and the most cost-effective compared to other foods). However, it may not be the best choice regarding lifetime (:heart:) or skill points (:green\_circle:) ...
{% endhint %}

### <mark style="color:purple;">Processing</mark> (:green\_circle:)

Processing food mainly increases the competence points (:green\_circle:) of your Veggie. \
You can use as much as you like but processing foods give comptetence points (:green\_circle:) only every two hours.

{% hint style="info" %}
This means that if your primary aim is to increase competence points (:green\_circle:) of your Veggie, processing food will be the best choice (and the most cost-effective compared to other foods). However, it may not be the best choice regarding lifetime (:heart:) or star points (:star:) ...
{% endhint %}
